What Is an At-Home Puppy Party?

An At-Home Puppy Party is the same experience as having a Puppy Party at Pudgy’s Place — except we bring the puppies to you.

Whether you’re hosting in your home or renting a private party space, everything stays the same: the puppies, the structure, and the care. We simply pack it all up and come to you.

What to Expect at an At-Home Puppy Party

Once you’ve decided to host a Puppy Party at home (or in a rented space), here’s exactly how it works.

Arrival, Setup & Puppy Prep

We arrive 30 to 40 minutes before the party starts with our wagon full of vaccinated rescue puppies, along with their security detail: Chunk, Chubbs, and Smalls.

We ask that we’re given the space and time without guests so we can set up the pen, let the puppies have a pee on the pee pads, and give them a little drink. Once that’s done, we clean up the pee pads before guests arrive to meet the puppies.

Meeting the Puppies

When all guests have arrived, we start with a short introduction.

Puppy Introductions & Handling Guidelines

We introduce each puppy by name, share their breed, age, and a little bit of their backstory. We also go over proper puppy handling to make sure the puppies stay safe and comfortable throughout the party.

Sometimes guests are seated in a circle while the puppies play, wander, and come up for kisses while everyone watches. Everyone is welcome to hold a puppy (or two… or three!), pet them, give kisses, or receive kisses.

Puppy Playtime & Interaction

We bring the puppies’ favourite toys — which are actually cat toys, because puppies love cat toys. Guests can play with the puppies using their toys and interact with them freely while we supervise.

We also bring Puppy Purses, which are wearable slings. A puppy can be placed inside the Puppy Purse so they remain safe while guests walk around.

If the party host allows, guests can sit in the living room and we’ll bring a puppy over to sit with them, watching closely to make sure the puppy is safe on the couch. Some hosts prefer to let the puppies roam and play outside of the pen, while others prefer a more structured setup — both options are perfectly fine.

Flexible Party Styles

Every party is a little different, and we’re happy to adapt.

Some people prefer that the puppies remain in the pen and are brought out one at a time rather than all at once — no problem at all. Others prefer to go inside the pen and play with them there, which is also great. The puppies are socialized and happy to play with guests either way.

Accidents, Cleaning & Care

The puppies are mostly pee-pad trained, but accidents can happen. We come prepared with cleaning and disinfection products and swoop in to clean right away if needed. All garbage is removed and taken with us when we leave.

Photos, Videos & Party Timing

You’re welcome to take photos and videos of the puppies — it’s your party!

Setup and cleanup time are not included in the 1.5-hour party. The full 1.5 hours is pure puppy time, and time truly flies when there are happy, bouncy puppies at the party.

Polaroid Photos & Wrapping Up

If you’ve added Polaroid photos to your party, we’ll go around and ask each guest which puppy they’d like their picture taken with and print the photo on the spot.

About 15 minutes before the party is scheduled to end, we’ll let guests know the party is wrapping up so they have time to spend a little longer with their favourite puppy and take any final photos.
